Checklist for a Recurring Revenue Business

They say you need a business plan to start a business. Nonsense. You need a checklist. Business plans change too quickly and no one is going to bother reading them. Checklists can change often and be easily split down into smaller bites and measured. Today I want to share with you my checklist for a recurring revenue business. It includes my favorite tools and methods of setting up an online business.

Businesses need to Catch up with the Mobile Consumer

Today Google released research that provides a look into Australians’ use of smartphones, including the fact that more than half of Australia’s population now owns a smartphone. According to a study conducted with Ipsos Media CT, Australia’s smartphone penetration is now 52%–representing growth of over 40% year on year, up from 37% last year. 3 out of 4 people don’t leave home without their mobile, and almost 1 out of 4 (23%) would rather give up their TV than their smartphone–especially significant in a country that loves free-to-air TV and cooking shows.

The Two Paths of a Hustler

Magic? No, hustle. That’s how they do it. Building awesome companies to crazy valuations is the factor by which a lot of people measure success of the best. Not all entrepreneurs love the spotlight of the media and instead prefer to keep their goings on private to their circle of peers and family. One of my best friends and mentors is such an entrepreneur. He imparted something on me a while back which I haven’t forgotten and think about regularly.

How To Start A Business In Thailand With $20 Over A Weekend

Last year I had the pleasure of spending 3 weeks in Thailand. Nowhere near long enough for such a beautiful country. However, I did have time to set up a business whilst there, which I believe still runs to this day. At the time it was an act of desperation as I had less than $50 and needed to return home to Sydney. In hindsight however it has become a great example of a truly rapid and lean business establishment.

Do our Stars determine our Entrepreneurial Path?

I first interviewed Penny on radio last year, and I found what she had to say very interesting and fascinating, at the time she was getting ready to film her pilot of her new show, “The Stars Behind the Stars” of which the first cut is just above. As Steve Jobs was a massive influencer in our community, I found this first look at the show very intriguing, I also find the fact that companies too have birth dates that determine the path they will take an interesting concept.
